It’s finally here!!!
After all the hints and teasers, BTS’s J-Hope and multi-award-winning Latin-American singer Becky G released their collab, titled “Chicken Noodle Soup” today, accompanied by a breathtakingly beautiful music video.
The collab, which features both Korean and Spanish lyrics, is inspired by Webstar and Young AB’s “Chicken Noodle Soup” featuring AG aka The Voice of Harlem from 2006, which was an integral inspiration of both stars when they were young. They’ve even reimagined the iconic choreography in the song’s music video.
The MV was directed by Lumpens, who has previously worked with BTS on the music videos for many of their most famous hits.
The speculations started back in August when it was announced that J-Hope traveled to L.A. for an unknown promotion. A fan asked what J-Hope was doing in LA on Weverse and he replied, “Sorry, important businessu…”.
On Sept. 5, 2019, a BTS fan posted on Weverse that they were listening to Hope World. The fan said they were listening to the mixtape because they missed J-Hope. The rapper then replied, “Hang in there!! Everybody will be surprised.”
This cryptic comment sent ARMY into a frenzy. Fans suspected that J-Hope hinted at the release of his next mixtape, making “Hope World 2” trend on Twitter.
Things started to get clearer when both Becky G and J-Hope teased the collaboration on twitter two days ago.
Fans quickly figured out that there is a collab on the way and BigHit confirmed it the next day via naver.
BTS and Becky G met in May at this year’s Billboard Music Awards.
