BTS Win Big At 16th Korean Music Awards

The 2019 Korean Music Awards took place at the Guro Arts Valley Theater in Seoul on February 26 and *surprisingly*, our boys took home the night’s top prizes.

They were nominated for five awards including Album of the Year, Song of the Year (for “Fake Love” and “IDOL”), Artist of the Year, Best Pop Album, and Best Pop Song (for “Fake Love” and “IDOL”).

Before the event the ARMYs were wondering if BTS will attend the awards at all, as Korean Music Awards fall on the same day as the EDaily Culture Awards and the boys have received major recognition in both ceremonies!

But of course, they never fail to disappoint us – the boys somehow managed to film their VLIVE re:memVer Party broadcast and shoot over to the EDaily Culture Awards to pick up their award for Best Tour, before finally arriving to the Korean Music Awards.

BTS won the award for Artist of the year for 2018 and their song “Fake Love” took the top prize in both Song of the year and Best pop song categories – which makes them winners in 3/5 categories.

The Korean Music Awards (KMA) is completely decided by critics. Not sales, digitals, fan votes or popularity. BTS were the FIRST idol grp to win Artist of the Year in 2018 and have now won it again in 2019, along with Song of the Year

You go boys!!!
